About the Class:

Introductory class to letterpress printing. Learn to print on a 1930 Platen Press at the Zoë Ink Studio. You will learn the basics including the general mechanics of the press, as well as preparing the press for printing. We will work with photopolymer plates to create the finished product.

Take home:

- 10 blind impression note cards printed with photopolymer plates.

- A set of 25 note cards with blank envelopes printed in an ink color the class will decide on.

About Letterpress Printing:

Letterpress is one of the oldest printing techniques where a raised plate or type is inked and pressed into paper resulting in a sharp image that leaves a lasting impression. Each sheet of paper is hand-fed through the press one at a time and one color at a time.
